Hi, my name is Joe, I am a computer nerd and I play bass.
The computer bug bit me about 15 years ago when I bought my first computer, it was a hot rod! It had a 66Mhz processor, 32 megs of ram, 2.1g hard drive all running Windows 3.11...WOW! I remember being told that I would never need a hard drive with more capacity and if I upgraded my processor and RAM (to 133mhz and 64megs respectively) I would never need to do more to my computer. Uh huh. We've come a long way baby!
Since then I have built many machines for both others and myself and recently built myself a server running Windows Server 2008.
I am probably not one of the best one million bass players in the world but I can pound a quarter note while keeping time with the best of them and have a great time doing it.
Also, I still play guitar and like to noodle around on the keyboard.
My home studio has been a work in progress for many years. Currently I have a Tascam digital 16 track recorder, Ableton Live 7 computer software and an assortment of instruments, mikes, noisemakers and effects. We've come a long way from bouncing tracks between stereo cassette recorders!
Welcome. Take a look around and have a great day!
Joe.
